Christmas Luck

Last friday I recv'd a call from one of the local radio stations.  Did not think much of it at first, I was at work and unable to return the call.  I called on saturday and they told me to call back on monday that I had won something.  I started to wrack my brain and I  remembered while I was waiting on Spencer's christmas pics at Moto Photo I had filled out a chance for a drawing- the 12 days of christmas sponsored by Mix 96, thats all I could remember.  So I called monday before we headed out to Branson and I had won the grand prize!!  I was stunned, I've never won anything like this before.  I had won 12 $250 gift certificates to various business around Tulsa and a free lasik eye surgery.  Luckily I can give Greg the lasik surgery, and we also are able to go to the New Years Eve bash at the Doubletree downtown and stay for free!!!!

Sugar Cookies

This year we made sugar cookies for the 1st time.  Even Allie got in on the fun, note the red sprinkles on her nose

Spencer taking a taste of his work- as all great chefs do
He is a true master at the sprinkles
Red or Green....hmmm
Some of the finished products

Christmas Fun

A bit behind posting pics of our christmas tree and etc.  My sister and I spent a couple of hours decorating the tree.  Spencer thought it was pretty and one of our cats thought it a great place to hide from a pesky toddler

Above is coach seeking refuge
After the stockings were hung, spence learned a hard lesson in not pulling on the stockings.  Til this day we are still putting band aids on his owie
The finished product- not to bad

Recovery

As you all know I'm a RN in an ICU and have been for 6yrs.  I also have had 3 surgeries on my other knee and have been down this road before.  The only differences now are that I have Greg and Spencer.  Greg is a PA and has been for 8 years and is really good at his job.  He is driving me mad... "why aren't you using your crutches",  "where is your brace"  I know he means well and I love him dearly-I'm a horrible patient.
Spencer is your typical 2yr old, and one of his new fun toys is the dust pan and the little brush that goes with it.  I cant explain why he thought it would be funny to run up to me and jab the dust pan into my knee.  I saw stars!!  Of course if  I had been wearing my brace.....

Knee Surgery

Well so far so good- had surgery on friday on my "good" knee.  The same procedure I had on my left knee the first time.  So here is to hoping that this one goes much better than the last.  The worst part is that I cant bathe until tomorrow.

Christmas Portraits

Christmas 2008 Portraits- Spencer wanted a picture with mommy.  Of course it had to be a day of no make-up and a not so good hair day. But black and white photos hide alot!

This is just one of the poses we picked this year(there are 3 more, but I'll spare you).  I was amazed the photographer could get a good pic.  Spencer was jumping up and down and messing with the trees.  He is such a stinker.....

A one, two punch

With a child in daycare comes illness as one should suspect.  But what I wasnt ready for was that I would be the sickest of them all.  It all started with a little GI bug, Spence had a day and a half of GI disturbance.  I had 3 days of diarrhea & vomitting-I never knew the human body could produce so much, especially when even the smell of food sends you running for the nearest bathroom.  Then the second wave of sickness, an URI.  Spence had a running nose, coughing ect. I ended up with whooping cough. I havent slept in 3 days and I cant taste anything that I attempt to eat.  Its one heck of a diet plan!!

Thanksgiving

I'll be working on thanksgiving, so we will give thanks a few days early with some of our dear friends.  Which means I have to get the house ready!  And thanks to our wonderful dog phantom, I'll be giving our 1/4 bath by the laundry room a make over.  Some how he managed to lock himself in the bathroom, and being the dog he is, he did everything to get out.  So I'm off to Home Depot for paint, a new door, molding and new blinds.  I'm soooo thankful for phantom.

Oh, and Renie I promise to do my best and keep current :) Love you!!

Spencer and Griffin

Spencer and I used to babysit my friend Nikki's little boy - Griffin. Spencer was a great help as you can tell from this picture. But oddly enough you asked if he wants a baby brother or sister he says no. We are not expecting yet......Hopefully Spencer will change his mind next year?
